The project officially started on October 4th, 2008, when I presented it at the first
malagasy barcamp. Although a tremendous work has been done before, for almost 4 years, I needed this little show to make people aware of it, and to boost my involvement. This Roadmap will list all I plan to do.
- October, 12th:
- Wiki will be setup
- A Sourceforge project will be created
- October, 31st:
- Setup an online spell checker. People will be able to spell check a malagasy website, or enter ASCII texts into a form, and the online spell checker will show words it doesn't recognize.
- November, 30th:
- Add the online spell checker to the Sourceforge project. Its license will be Affero GPL.
- December, 31st:
- A web form to build the words lists will be available online, and on the Sourceforge project.
- January 2021, 15th:
- I restart adding new words to the database. When you use the spellchecker, all text marked as spelling errors will be logged into a file. I will manually check that file to find false negatives. Then, I will try to add these new words to the database. When doing this, I'm adding not only the newly found word, but all words sharing the same root. This increases the database size very quickly.
