Je me suis amusé à faire un classement des six groupes des phases finales de la CAN 2019, d’après le résultat que les qualifiés de ces groupes ont eu en huitième de finale.
Il est intéressant de noter que parmi les 6 têtes de groupe à l’issue de la première phase, seule l’Algérie est passée au tour suivant avec une nette victoire, et à part l’Algérie, seul Madagascar a réussi à accrocher son billet, ce après un match très difficile contre la RDC, meilleure troisième du groupe A. Les quatre autres équipes arrivées têtes de poule ont toutes trébuché : l’Egypte, le Maroc, le Mali et le Ghana. La phase à élimination directe est assez cruelle, et il n’y a plus de petite équipe. Parmi les 8 qualifiées, 2 ont été premier de groupe, 2 repêchées en tant que meilleure troisième et 4 ont fini deuxième.
Le classement des 6 groupes est à mon avis comme suit :
1er : groupe C (Algérie, Sénégal)
2ème : groupe D (Côte d’Ivoire, Afrique du Sud)
3ème : groupe B (Nigéria, Madagascar)
4ème : groupe E (Tunisie)
5ème : groupe F (Bénin)
6ème : groupe A (aucune équipe qualifiée en quarts)
Après les victoires du Sénégal (Groupe C) et Nigéria (Groupe B), j’espère que les qualifiées des matches d’aujourd’hui 11 juillet seront l’Algérie (Groupe C) et Madagascar (Groupe B), et alors, nous dirons que ces deux groupes auront été les meilleurs de cette CAN 2019.
